Quiltography: Frequently Asked Questions.
Patters are hand crafted by expert quilters, most make a living off selling them, this is a design App and assumes, as a quilter that you have the ability to make a quilt. It is not intended to take away the livelihood of those quilters by automatically creating such patterns.
Sure do. Although Quiltography helps describe the App, we like to call it “Quilto” for short.
We would love to be able give Quiltography away for FREE if we could. Unfortunately to be able to justify the cost of development and to be able to provide support and further updates, we have to charge something. With quilting being a niche market, the $0.99 price point would not reflect the quality of the App and the limited size of the market. That said we will continue to monitor comments and competition and may adjust pricing accordingly.
The cost of Quiltography does not just pay for the app you download, but funds for future versions and additional features that will enhance Quiltography.
Where should we start? Quiltography was designed from the ground up for quilters, by quilters. Quiltography has been designed to be as user friendly as possible. Where other Apps fail with excessively complicated user experiences, Quiltography is simple to use and you can design and edit a quilt extremely fast. Quiltography combines aspects of other quilting Apps and adds some extra features into the mix. Quiltography is truly a unique mobile quilt designing tool. You can import your fabric stash, design blocks and quilts from your fabric. You can even design a quilt using a photograph and export the pattern as a PDF to share with friends or print to make yourself.
App store reviews are a one way system, meaning, you can make comments but we are unable to directly respond to you. The main purpose for App store reviews is to inform potential customers on your opinion about an App. If you have any comments and suggestions that you would like a response to please contact us at email@example.com leaving contact information.
Tell us!!!! We want Quiltography to be the number 1 quilting App on mobile devices, we cant do that by ignoring our users. Get in touch, we never ignore comments or suggestions, You might find this strange, but, we even like to hear criticisms, so long as they are constructive that is 😀
Unfortunately not at the moment.
We are working on making Quiltography the best it can be for iOS devices at the moment. We would like to see it available for other devices if demand is high enough.
These things take time, first we need to identify the problem, next we need to actually fix it (hopefully something nice and easy). The next thing we need is to test that fixing that problem hasn’t caused other problems, sometimes this can happen and can make things take a little longer.
Once we have fixed the issue and we are happy enough with the update to unleash it on the world, we need to send the App off to Apple for approval. This can take 5-7 days if Apple are happy with the update this we become available almost immediately.
As you can see, fixes are not a quick job, also, if the issue was low ( yet still important ) priority, it might be included with other fixes at the same time to reduce the amount of updates you need to perform.
We are sorry to hear that, unfortunately, only Apple can issue a refund. There is no system in place for us to refund you directly. If you feel you are entitled to a refund, we ask that you contact Apple directly. We would also like to know why you want a refund, if it is something we have done wrong, we would like to be able to make things right.
We have MANY MORE ideas for future versions and are happy to add your own ideas too if they fit in with our design, so be sure to get in touch. The more positive feedback we get, the more 5 Star reviews we receive and the more people that download Quiltography, the more time and money we are able to reinvest in implementing those ideas.
It is entirely up to you, but for the best user experience we suggest your images are at least 512 pixels x 512 pixels.
Quiltography will work fine with lower resolution images but, when designing your quilt it may not look quite as good as the recommended resolution.
First off, we are sorry that this has happened, this is not what we would call good a user experience.
Rest assured, we do our best to test each version before a release, but, it is not possible to have 100% bug free code despite our best efforts. Some bugs only occur on a specific combination of hardware and operating system versions. Some only occur when the App is used in unexpected ways. The best thing is to contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us what hardware you are using, what iOS version you are using, what you were doing when the issue happened and what steps are needed to recreate the issue. The sooner you let us know about a problem, the sooner we can get it fixed.
The technology behind Quiltography was designed to use “fabrics”, in order to maintain the integrity of the database and allow for searching of fabric and blocks we decided that creating reusable fabric was the best approach. Although it initially adds an extra couple of steps for using, simple, plain fabric; once a color has been created, reusing that fabric makes designing blocks faster and a more enjoyable experience.
When I open my ”my stash” it shows I have 53 items in my stash, but I haven’t loaded any yet. Is this correct ?
Yes this is correct, we pre-populate your stash with tome initial fabric.
The reason is, when we were testing the App, Users wanted something already in the database to help with quickly designing blocks without the need to have access to fabric to import.
If you want to, this fabric can be removed;
– Open ”My Stash”
– Press and Hold any fabric until they ”jiggle”
– You can then press the remove icon to delete the fabric from your database.
– For extra safety, you will be asked for confirmation to remove the fabric from your database AND if the fabric is being used in 1 or more blocks, you will not be allowed to remove the fabric until the corresponding blocks are removed first.
Printing can be done directly if you have an AirPrint compatible printer. Alternatively you can email yourself the pattern and print from your computer.
